Literally just bought a glass pen today (Barnes and Noble) to give it a try and found your video(s), and had the entire conversation of "Meh, it's $25 and I'll save a few bucks on that, if it's terrible it's not a serious loss," brought it home to give it a try, and it's by far the best calligraphy experience I've ever had, and feels extremely natural using it to write my style of cursive handwriting. First time I've been excited to write calligraphy, ever, I've always had terrible experiences with metal and feather pens.

Have you tried the Crayola super tips or fine line markers? Can they be used for hand lettering as well?

So true brush pens that are too soft flexible needs much more control experience & also tires my hands. That blue one looks like the awesome Zebra brand Mildliner Brush Pens (only comes in medium size but so good)❣️ I also like the Pentel Touch & Towmbow Hardtip brush pens ❣️💞🙏

You have no idea how bizarre it is to see that adults need to learn cursive, but it's true, my grandkids have no idea how to write cursive. Thank you for teaching people how to do it.! Writing in cursive is no longer relevant, but I think that it could be offered in school as an Art elective for those who want to learn. Lettering of all kinds makes a wonderful, creative past time that is affordable for everybody!❤

Both of these are pretty! Like the second sloped style which feels more traditional. Your handwriting is calming and influenced by modern lettering. Nice 😊

There are two styles! One is a brush the other is a firmer bullet tip. I’ve found great uses for both and wish there was a full range of colors! You have to play with them a bit to get used to how to use them.

Both please! I love the upright style but I default to slanted style naturally. Love them both! Arlene 😅

A really good paint pen is crucial. I used a very temperamental paint pen and it really made a mess of things!!!

Surely, one of the first things to say is not to use fountain pen ink with a dip pen for calligraphy practise. You really need to say how fountain pen ink differs from calligraphy ink and how to make fountain pen suitable for a dip pen.

These pens reminds of sone paint pens i got at hobby lobby from the brand master touch they work the same as these sharpies! The only difference is they come in more colors and there a little less opaque

Woah!!! Mayb this is the solution of the common brush pen problem... fast fraying. Or maybe more forgiving to be use on a normal paper....i hope more and more color will come out soon. Thank you for sharing.

I would LOVE a fountain pen with a soft nib to easily write beautiful letters... not as beautiful as your for sure... but, I will never be able to afford such a pen. But i do love fountain pens as RA gas hit my joints quite bad, and i love to write and draw, but a basic pen usually needs me to grip it tightly and press down, which i am just not able to do... even less so after the last surgery leaving me... well, a mess but that doesn't matter. Just meant that i love that fountain pens allow me to write or draw so much longer since artistic things, that i only found i could do.. sorta do.. also late in life.. but have saved my life. SOOOOOOOO happy you could get this pen and enjoy your amazing art so much easier!!!!! Have fun!!!😊 Edit.. ok... so, I'm an idiot and just looked to realize this video is almost a year old... you've no doubt been loving it!! 🤦‍♀️😊

So where is the actual 'journaling' part? You just paint all over the Bible to make it look pretty rather than actually read and understand what it's telling you? Oh how Christianity is falling so hard...

@howtohandletter, They sell a 2 pc set of these exact markers in the colors black and white at Michael’s craft store! 😆 so you don’t have to buy the full set! ….at least in my area.

Have you tried the Sailor Shikiori brush pens? Wondering if they are good quality.
